this is from the mayors radio show this morning.

beginning at 24:45 on this podcast (if you have audio capability on your computer just go to the page and click play on the icon...and scroll forward to that time) our very own 'marsha' has a interesting discussion with the mayor. more like she continuously badgers him while the mayor tries to calmly answer her. its pretty entertaining and enlightening stuff.

Note that I called about the city's rotten website, gohammond.com, and mcmayor brings up that his "spies" in the Lake County Treasurer's office had told him I called there last week to verify mcsenior's $43,000 past due property tax bill.
Now these mcteam goofs are beefing because mcsenior was discussed on the radio-BY HIS OWN SON!

I'd say that both the Mayor and free sounded pretty exasperated.

Free, I don't care much for the city website. I agree with you that a lot more information needs/should be put up there.


But...

Just because information is public, it doesn't mean it should be posted. It's like when your mom called an ambulance and certain people posted your business on the message board. You were pissed. I'd have been pissed, too. I'd also be pissed if someone looked up my dad's tax info online and posted it here for all the world to read.

The Mayor's dad's financial situation is no business of ours, just like your medical problems is no business of ours. Quite frankly, I don't blame the mayor for telling you off about that. It's his father, his family. Of course he's going to be protective and get upset. McDermott, Sr is no longer in the public eye, therefore, he's entitled to his privacy. If they started posting information about your family, how would you react? How would you like to log on and see your Mom's personal info on here? I'm sure you'd be pissed.

Btw, Friday's are a bad day to get ahold of Repay. I don't know why, but there you go.

I think he's related to Joe the plumber, and also to it's people like that, that make politicians push for the coit because of lack of funds!!!

Freetime calls to bitch about the website because the council doesnt upload the council meetings on there...

The last time this came up with MArkovich the mayor told him that he (the Mayor) would not stand in his (the council ) way if they wanted to record them. Now gohammond.com might not be all inclusive (I think Marsha said that it was all pictures of the Mayor) but I have yet to hear a council member mention putting their meetings on line.

website is worthless, and how do you know the mayor told markovich that. this is baligirant and they should be available to hear and view on the website so start taping and putting on the website. Have some descency for yourself now.

Evidently you dont listen to WJOB as much as you would like them to think. the conversation was on the Mayors show...you should have been there!

I listen sporadically and couldnt care less who you are. The fact is the conversation was on while I was listening. You can question it if you want and I wont even bother to prove you wrong...basically I dont care if it is on or not, but I believe it is the councils decision not the mayors

Case in point, look how pissed she gets whenever I continually bring up her mom's lawsuit against her in court over back rent and damages, all information I got doing a little search on the Lake County website with just her name.

Cae # and all came up.

She gets pissed when it gets brought up, especially how she claims she isn't paying rent, yet her mom took her to court for back rent. So someone in that family is lying, but she refuses to answer the question, claiming she has a right to privacy, yet she is doing the same thing to the mayors dad, who is also a private citizen these days, yet she says he is not because of his son

So you were a reporter and that made you a public figure, kinda like Mark Kiesling only less successful. Your mother, being your mother, is susceptible to criticism because you "used to" be a public figure. Is that a correct interpretation of your "are and were" analogy since you used to project public opinion? After your mother became your mother she may have done other notable things since ( like become a landlord) but since then she was and still is your mother, so she is still connected to that part of your life when you were a public figure. Using your "logic" she is fair game for public ridicule. Don't you agree?
