I've seen that same deer cross from Forest Park to the other side of Harrison Boulevard. When I saw her, I pulled over. She had two babies behind her, and she looked both ways and then took her babies across the street.

I think it's horrible what they're doing to these top three officials in Gary, by putting them on trial like this. How would those people like to get out there and give up their life everyday to fight crime in Gary? Branson was a highly decorated Marine veteran of 21 years, and then gave 21 years to the city of Gary. Let's persecute 'em though, and make 'em scapegoats for some idiot.

To the people complaining about political signs being stolen from their front yards, where was the outrage when Michael Essany's signs for City Council (more than 70 of them) were stolen neatly out of people's yards in the middle of the night? Oh, I forgot ... everyone said he made it up. If he made it up, how come half of the people in my former neighborhood went looking for their signs the next morning?

Hillary Clinton voters such as myself think Obama is too inexperienced and we don't trust him. That's why we're going over to McCain. Plus the fact we think that the DNC hijacked Hillary Clinton's candidacy, and we are definitely out to punish the Democratic Party for their transgressions.

Martin Heinrich was wrong about Bush and 9/11. He will be remembered as the worst president in history. He failed to secure our borders, let bin Laden escape, left Afghanistan undone, then used 9/11 to mislead our nation into an unnecessary, costly Iraq war, which he mismanaged. He mishandled Katrina and failed to deter aggression from Russia and others. He destabilized the Middle East, the economy, turn Clinton's surplus into a deficit, and led us into the worst economic mess since the Depression

Enough is enough. Lake County residents are sick and tired of sharing the wealth and nothing else. Residents of Porter, LaPorte, Jasper, Newton and Starke counties want to travel to Lake County for the good-paying jobs. They want to share in the wealth Lake County has to offer, yet refuse to share the burden of their own transportation. The folks in Lake County need alternative routes, such as the Illiana Expressway, to ease our traffic nightmares. As it stands now, when our major arteries close because of flooding, we find everyone from everywhere literally in our back yards. You have no right to say "not in my back yard" if you travel to your neighbor's back yard to earn your living. You must share the burden you absolutely help to create.

Last time i checked, the entire county is looking to shed $15 million from its budget, thats not having wealth, thats haviong no money

I just saw where John McCain wants to postpone Friday's debate with Obama. He wants to go to Washington to help with this so-called bailout. John McCain doesn't know a darn thing about the economy, so why does he believe he can help in Washington? He's just worried that Obama will bury him in Friday's debate.

Relax. Grampa McBush just chickened out of chickening out and will be at the debate tonight.

His photo-op in Washington ended up being a bust,while Obama came off as Presidential.

I'm a teacher and I've been thinking about retiring. But now,I know I have to retire, because one of my students whispered in my ear recently and told me, "Ms. S., you've got your pants on backward." Lo and behold, I had my pants on backward. Now, it's time for me to say goodbye after the many years I've been here. When I wear my pants backward, I need to go.

It's really pathetic when the citizens of Gary can't get even a new garbage can when the wheels come off the old one. The mayor of Gary can go on a trip to China, but can't furnish garbage cans to his citizens.

I'm so glad that Sarah Palin is doing her debate prep in Arizona because now she'll be well-versed in immigration policy ... "Because you know, you can see Mexico from Arizona."

It's really pathetic that the citizens of Gary cannot even be responsible enough to do something as basic as buying a garbage can for themselves, but must rely upon government to do something that basic for them.

I look at Gary, know the Democrats caused it, and voted Republican.
