Union thug Randy Palmateer pulled an unregistered gun on a Crown Point policeman at his home. Crown Point police called for backup and transported Palmateer to jail. Palmateer has been charged with several crimes, but sources say he is trying to cut a deal with Uran to have the charges dropped. Stay tuned!

Uran's record is increasingly questionable.

Uran's 2010 Campaign Finance Reports shows a $5,000 contribution from White Hawk developer Jim Hawk's company.

The July 29 Times reports that in 2010, White Hawk, currently in foreclosure, was before the Crown Point Redevelopment Commission asking for help with $1.5 million to refinance a $3.5 million note with First Financial Bank.

A Crown Point branch of First Financial Bank is managed by Democrat Crown Point Councilman Andrew Kyres.

Hey genius, Indiana doesn't have a gun registration law.You couldn't register a gun with the state even if you wanted to.Makes me think the entire thread is BS.

The point is that union thug Palmateer pulled a gun on a police officer. Check the police records for his crimes. East Chicago politics has surely arrived with the union thugs and democrats like uran cutting deals.

Palmateer would not have approached Uran, if he didn't think Uran could be compromised.

East Chicago style politics in Crown Point.

Uran told the responding officer and the chief to not file charges against Palmateer. Will the FOP stand to have this kind of mayoral influence on a threat to their own from a union thug? Where will it stop if we are allowing union thugs to now get away with crimes against the police. This East Chicago style politics should not be tolerated!

It is East Chicago politics combined with Obama economic policies.

Crown Point is borrowing money from any source available. At Monday night's city council meeting, the council was advised that Crown Point signed on to the State's new revolving credit plan - similar to a credit card.

The major new development in Crown Point is government development, like the sportsplex, Bo Jackson Stadium and the library. This is a double whammy against the taxpayers who borrow money to build these projects and then - since they are tax-free - have to subsidize their city maintenance cost. The city consultants, engineers and lawyers show a handsome profit at taxpayer's expense.

With Uran's policies, Crown Point will wind up with the same debt problem as Obama's U.S., Greece, Spain, Italy etc.

URAN IS A DISASTER IN THE MAKING!!

A city can't keep borrowing money to build tax-exempt projects that require city services - while the business and residential tax base shrinks.

That is what Obama has been doing.

It doesn't work and will land you in trouble - like it has Obama.

Is the "ear" Crown Point Chief of Staff to Mayor Uran - Keith Stevens?

Could this be "Obstruction of Justice?"

It took a while, but now its official--drunken union goon busted for driving while intoxicated. Could there be more to the story about his pulling a gun on a Crown Point cop as well? I'd seen this gorilla's picture before on line and he looked more like 50 years old. 32? I guess that's what a life of "working" 9-5 with four breaks per day, lunch, a couple hours tucking dollar bills into g-strings and imbibing before staggering home can do to a guy.

Given Spunk's concern for public safety, I know he will be calling for the head of this "union official" shortly.

Are these two separate stories? One talks about pulling a gun at his home. The other talks about drunk driving! At least when he drinks with commissioner Jerry Scheuub. All Jerry has to do is walk across the street from the Patio in Merrillville and into his rented home, the rectory of the Church. Now when they drink at Gambas in Merrillville, that is a different story.

Randy Palmateer

CROWN POINT | A region union official and member of a city commission faces charges of drunken driving and endangering a person following his arrest earlier this week.

Randy Palmateer, business manager of the Northwestern Indiana Building and Construction Trades Council, was arrested and charged following a Monday traffic stop, according to Crown Point City Court documents.

A police officer stopped Palmateer, 32, of Crown Point, shortly before 11 p.m. Monday after witnessing him driving 42 mph in a 25 mph zone while weaving along South Court Street near the Lake County Fairgrounds, according to police reports.

Palmateer, who also is an appointed member of the Crown Point Redevelopment Commission, gave off a strong odor of alcohol, appeared confused and had bloodshot, watery eyes when approached by the officer during the stop, police reports state.

Palmateer also was unsteady and swayed when he exited his vehicle and refused an alcohol breath test and sobriety tests at the scene, according to police reports.

The defendant was arrested and charged with misdemeanor counts of operating while intoxicated and operating while intoxicated/endangering a person because his wife was a passenger in his vehicle, court records state. He also was charged with speeding.

Palmateer did not return calls from The Times seeking comment Friday, and court records did not indicate whether a defense attorney has been named in his case.

A hearing is scheduled in the case for Aug. 16 in Crown Point City Court, and the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles has been notified of the charges, according to court records.
