Whatever Corky

You're not fooling anyone here

The truth of the matter is your lefty echo chamber is all you listen to BECAUSE they don't call DUMBO on the bullshit he pulls.

You are the gullible stupid sheep, not me.

That is the reason the term "useful idiot" was coined to refer to the far left.

At least Dwight Schrute can hold down a 40 hour a week job, while running a successful beet farm, and still manages to get laid, unlike a retard . . . like you.

Yes?

Two USAF Squadrons Created to Support Presidential Campaign

With money having been thrown to the winds for the past several years and as the Air Force reduces combat squadrons for lack of funds, two new airlift squadrons are being created in support of one political party for the election season.

This forwarded to me yesterday:.

The United States Air Force has established two new airlift squadrons to
support President Obama's travel needs during the campaign season.

The 305th and 306th Expeditionary Airlift Squadrons were activated
as subordinate units of the 89th Airlift Wing on December 1.

The 305th will operate out of New Castle, DE, with 5 C-130H
medium lift transport aircraft, 8 full sets of aircrew, 60 assigned
maintenance personnel and 12 operations personnel.

The 306th will operate out of Andrews AFB, with 4 C-17 heavy lift
transports, 7 full aircrew, 60 maintenance personnel, and 10
operations personnel will be assigned.

Operations for the two squadrons are to commence in April, and will
run through the election. The aircraft and personnel will be released
back to their original units after Nov. 2.

This is factual. Military Release at this link:

Labor Dept. withdraws farm child labor rule
after Daily Caller report goes viral

Daily Caller, by Paul Conner

Under pressure from farming advocates in rural communities, and following a report by The Daily Caller, the Obama administration withdrew a proposed rule Thursday that would have applied child labor laws to family farms.

Critics complained that the regulation would have drastically changed the extent to which children could work on farms owned by family members. The U.S. Department of Labor cited public outcry as the reason for withdrawing the rule.

“The decision to withdraw this rule — including provisions to define the ‘parental exemption’ — was made in response to thousands of comments expressing concerns about the effect of the proposed rules on small family-owned farms,” the Department said in a press release Thursday evening. “To be clear, this regulation will not be pursued for the duration of the Obama administration.”

The rule would have dramatically changed what types of chores children under the age of 16 could perform on and around American farms. It would have prohibited them from working with tobacco, operating almost all types of power-driven equipment and being employed to work with raw farm materials.

That's right, we don't want to undermine and block our youth from getting killed and maimed.
Quote:
“I am pleased to hear the Obama Administration is finally backing away from its absurd 85-page proposal to block youth from participating in family farm activities and ultimately undermine the very fabric of rural America, but I will continue working to ensure this overreaching proposal is completely and permanently put to rest,” said Sen. John Thune, Republican from South Dakota. “The Obama DOL’s youth farm labor rule is a perfect example of what happens when government gets too big.”

WASHINGTON -- Last week, two 17 year olds were critically injured in Oklahoma when they were pulled into a grain augur while on the job. Responders had to cut the augur to free the boys, who were flown to a hospital with severe leg injuries.

Yet the White House continues to sit on new child labor rules proposed last year by the Department of Labor that some safety advocates say could have prevented that accident.

Although the rules proposed by the Labor Department have not yet been made public, sources familiar with them say they would deem certain work activities on farms too dangerous for minors to perform, potentially strengthening laws that haven’t been updated in 40 years.

The rules have been awaiting review from the White House's Office of Management and Budget for the past nine months -- an unusually long time, even in the world of federal rule making. Such rules are supposed to be reviewed within 90 days, then go on to a public-comment period.

Observers are confused in part because the changes would have minimal economic impact.

"We've been trying to figure out who's opposed to these rules," said Celeste Monforton, a former Department of Labor safety official and blogger writing about workplace safety issues. "Is it part of this administration's concerns about regulations and how they're perceived? I have not been able to discern that."

On Monday, a group of more than 25 public-health and workplace safety experts signed a letter sent to Cass Sunstein, the OMB official who oversees rule review, urging him to move the child labor rule along.

Highlighting last week's tragedy, the advocates wrote: "We understand that the Labor Department’s draft rule may include proposed protections that could have prevented this incident from occurring."

"We hope this terrible event and the hundreds of other incidents that injure and kill young workers every year will compel you to release this draft proposal immediately," they added.

Meg Reilly, an OMB spokesperson, said in an email that the office doesn’t comment on federal rules that are being reviewed. "But it’s not uncommon for review periods to be extended for regulatory actions that require additional time for consideration of public comment and analysis by OMB and all the affected agencies," she noted.

The incident in Oklahoma comes just weeks after two 14-year-old girls were electrocuted and killed when they came into contact with an irrigator on a farm in Illinois, while another two were seriously injured in the incident. The workers were detasseling corn for agriculture giant Monsanto. The father of one of the girls who was killed has already filed suit against the company.

There are generally two sets of work safety rules for minors: Those related to agriculture and those related to all other industries. Justin Feldman, worker health and safety advocate for watchdog group Public Citizen, said he thought the agriculture-related rules are behind the times.

“It’s currently legal for children as young as 12 to have their lives put in danger by working in agriculture,” said Feldman. “The rules on the books now are antiquated and grossly inadequate.”

Although work done in grain elevators is considered commercial rather than agricultural, safety advocates believe the rules currently under consideration would restrict grain-related duties for teens as well.

What does that have to do with children of family owned farms working on their own family owned property?

Is government interference your solution to everything?

Pelosi Hires Editor From Soros-Funded Think Progress To Serve As Her Director Of New Media
Image
Perfect fit.

Quote:
WASHINGTON, D.C. — House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is tapping a prominent progressive blogger well schooled at the intersection of opposition politics and online reporting to serve as head of her online operations.

Faiz Shakir, the editor-in-chief of Think Progress, the highly influential blog for the think tank Center for American Progress, is leaving to become Pelosi’s director of new media and senior adviser.

Shakir is hardly the first blogger to leave that corner of the media universe for service in public office. But his departure from Think Progress nevertheless represents a major development for the site. He has been with Think Progress since 2005, during which time he helped build it into an outlet not just for progressive policy analysis but also for breaking, often oppositional, reporting. The level of success was best exemplified this past year, when a group of conservative operatives and reporters launched the imitation website FreeBeacon.com.

“Faiz leaves us in an incredibly strong position in terms of the deep reservoir of talent he has recruited to the blog and a record-setting March with 4.7 million unique visitors,” said Center for American Progress’ Action Fund president, Tom Periello, in an email to staff. “His talent, tendency towards innovation, and tenacious spirit will be missed, but he will not be far away and we wish him the best of luck in his next progressive adventure.”

Obama’s Sordid High School Past: Drug Use, Black Nationalism
Breitbart's Big Journalism, by Ben Shapiro

While the Washington Post has been diligently digging into relatively innocent high school pranks by Mitt Romney, they’ve spent the last few years diligently ignoring President Obama’s far more controversial high school days.

Obama, by all accounts, was a habitual drug user in high school. He tried cocaine, he admits in Dreams From My Father; he “tried drugs enthusiastically.” The Chicago Tribune reported back in 2007 that Obama thanked the “Choom Gang” in his high school yearbook; “chooming” was Hawaiian slang for smoking pot. The Honolulu Advertiser reported that Obama’s senior portrait “prominently displayed … A package of ‘Zig-Zag’ rolling papers and a matchbook.” One of Obama’s close friends was arrested for drug possession during high school.

In his memoir, Obama talked about routinely getting high. “Junkie. Pothead,” he wrote. “That’s where I’d been headed: the final, fatal role of the young would-be black man.” But, according to Obama, he only got high because he was contemplating deep matters: drugs could “push questions of who I was out of my mind.”

Obama told students in 2007 that this activity constituted “goofing off” and “wasting time”:

"I will confess to you that I was kind of a goof off in high school

Democrat-led Senate votes down 4 GOP budgets for ‘13
Washington Times, by Stephen Dinan

The Senate on Wednesday rejected every single budget being offered this year, leaving the chamber — and therefore the federal government — without a plan to address Medicare, Social Security and the other major entitlement programs that are driving deficits and debt.

In repeated votes, Democrats who control the chamber defeated four Republican proposals, including a plan that passed the House in March. The entire Senate also unanimously rejected President Obama’s 2013 budget, voting 99-0 against it, following a 414-0 vote against it in the House earlier this year.

“A stunning development for the president of the United States in his fourth year in office,” said Sen. Jeff Sessions, Alabama Republican.

Yeah right, LOL.
Things are lookin' real good for Rupert. Tell us more bright boy.
Quote:
Rupert Murdoch’s fate
In a cautionary tale for media barons around the world, the continued crumbling of Rupert Murdoch’s empire only gathered pace with his trusted lieutenant Rebekah Brooks facing criminal charges over the phone-hacking scandal. Despite all his wealth and power, Murdoch has not been able to get away with the rampant lawbreaking that seemed to be an inherent part of the culture at News Corp and a parliamentary committee has even declared him unfit to head the company. At the centre of the investigations into the phone-hacking scandal has been the Leveson Inquiry, which has questioned Murdoch and other executives in a public inquiry that has been televised.

For years, Murdoch was able to keep the bloodhounds at bay, thanks to the influence he had over the political elite. Now, however, politicians are turning against Murdoch in droves. This is partly due to the public nature of the Leveson Inquiry. Seeing the evasiveness of Murdoch on live television surely turned public opinion against him as did revelations of just how close he was to politicians of every stripe and ideology. Particularly damning was the testimony of Sir Harold Evans, who served as editor under Murdoch for a year after he took over The Times of London. Evans painted the portrait of a controlling, conniving liar who could not possibly have been unaware of the shenanigans taking place under his watch.

There are lessons to be learned here for Pakistan, too. We are currently in the midst of two vital inquiries: the ones looking into the Abbottabad raid and the memogate commission. Both these commissions are dealing with matters of national interest but, likely through lethargy, they seem to have made very little progress. Bringing them under the glare of television spotlights — as has been the case with the Leveson Inquiry — may speed up the process. It would also ensure that witnesses have even greater incentive to tell the truth, knowing that the public is watching. Even Murdoch’s influence has not been enough to save him; now we should give our own sacred cows the same treatment.

Snubbed: France’s New President Ditches Obama’s NATO Speech, Waited Until Barry Was Done Before Taking His Seat
Image
Just because he’s a socialist doesn’t mean he has no taste.

Quote:
CHICAGO — NATO leaders ratified an agreement Monday to turn over control of Afghanistan’s security to its own troops by the middle of 2013, endorsing a plan backed by the Obama administration to phase out the U.S. leading role in the unpopular war.

At a two-day summit in Mr. Obama’s backyard, the NATO allies supported the exit strategy that calls for an end of Western combat troops by the end of 2014. Mr. Obama hailed the group’s progress on winding down the decade-long war.

“Our nations and the world have a vital interest in the success of this mission,” Mr. Obama said at a summit session Monday. “I am confident . . . that we can advance that goal today and responsibly bring this war to an end.”

But the path ahead is far from certain. As if to underscore the problems remaining, new French President Francois Hollande skipped Mr. Obama’s remarks at Monday’s session, arriving to take his seat only after Mr. Obama had finished speaking. Mr. Hollande campaigned on a pledge to remove France’s 3,400 troops from Afghanistan by the end of this year, and he has publicly resisted efforts by Mr. Obama to reconsider his plans.

The NATO communique on Afghanistan also did not explain how the 28-nation alliance intends to prevent the Islamist Taliban movement from regaining its strength after NATO combat troops depart. The statement called the plan to phase out foreign combat troops “irreversible.”

NATO said its International Security Assistance Force will hand over command of all combat missions to Afghan forces by the middle of 2013 and withdraw most of its 130,000 troops by the end of 2014. The communique confirms in more detail a framework forged at a summit in Lisbon in 2010.

Mr. Obama said NATO has made “important progress” in the past two years in Afghanistan.

“Our forces broke the Taliban’s momentum,” Mr. Obama said. “More Afghans are reclaiming their communities. Afghan security forces have grown stronger.”
