Developing countries boycott UN climate talks

Dec 14, 8:58 AM (ET)

By MICHAEL CASEY

COPENHAGEN (AP) - China, India and other developing nations boycotted U.N. climate talks on Monday, bringing negotiations to a halt with their demand that rich countries discuss much deeper cuts in their greenhouse gas emissions.

Representatives from developing countries - a bloc of 135 nations - said they refused to participate in any formal working groups at the 192-nation summit until the issue was resolved.

The African-led move was a setback for the Copenhagen talks, which were already faltering over long-running disputes between rich and poor nations over emissions cuts and financing for developing countries to deal with climate change.

How long will the American mainstream media continue to cover for these clowns?
Sarah Palin, in her book, gets microscopically fact-checked over insignificant discrepancies concerning a family meeting.
Meanwhile, Al Gore lies his ass off about something that could potentially affect major industry, national and global economies, and our very quality of life, and the MSM yawns.
Something is very wrong.

Inconvenient truth for Al Gore as his North Pole sums don't add up

There are many kinds of truth. Al Gore was poleaxed by an inconvenient one yesterday.
The former US Vice-President, who became an unlikely figurehead for the green movement after narrating the Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth, became entangled in a new climate change “spin” row.
Mr Gore, speaking at the Copenhagen climate change summit, stated the latest research showed that the Arctic could be completely ice-free in five years.
In his speech, Mr Gore told the conference: “These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75 per cent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years.”
However, the climatologist whose work Mr Gore was relying upon dropped the former Vice-President in the water with an icy blast.
“It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at,” Dr Maslowski said. “I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.”
Mr Gore’s office later admitted that the 75 per cent figure was one used by Dr Maslowksi as a “ballpark figure” several years ago in a conversation with Mr Gore.
The embarrassing error cast another shadow over the conference after the controversy over the hacked e-mails from the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit, which appeared to suggest that scientists had manipulated data to strengthen their argument that human activities were causing global warming.

what I want to know is if edge and sparks still believe Al Gore and his band of snake oil peddlers because ever since this scandal broke they've been absent from any Climate Change discussion.

We've been telling them all along this whole thing was a scam only to be insulted and demeaned simply because of our skepticism.

now will these losers stand up for themselves, admit they've been duped, admit the debate is over, admit Al Gore is a fraud and try to right the wrongs that have been inflicted upon them or will they just slither back under their rocks awaiting their next instructions from the dumbocrat mother ship?

Actually, the majority of glacier melting that has taken place is due to solar radiation (the sun) and there is no proof that any of it can be attributed to so called anthropogenic global warming.

Remarkable.

Clarification: Gore misspoke on polar ice data
Associated Press

COPENHAGEN -- In an early version of a Dec. 14 story, Al Gore told the U.N. climate conference that new data suggested the Arctic polar ice cap may disappear in the summertime within five to seven years. Gore's office later clarified his statement and said he meant the cap would be nearly ice-free.

Perhaps Goofy540 has a very short memory concerning "lies".....

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7837&start=135

He's been busted time and again "lying" and the FACT is that Algore did LIE about the polar ice because everything Algore based his idiotic book on is a LIE and global warming is a LIE.

The whole thing is just way too funny..... :smt005 :smt006
