MSNBC Drops To Third Place Among Cable News Networks In April, Behind CNN For First Time In Two Years
Image
Feel good story of the day.

Quote:
For the first time in over two years, the farce of a cable news network known as MSNBC dropped to third place in total viewers and primetime in April being beaten by the long-suffering CNN and of course Fox News at the top.

As TVNewser reported Tuesday, despite April being a heavy news month with disasters in Boston and West Texas, MSNBC viewership was actually down from April 2012:

Compared to April 2012 MSNBC was down -10% in total viewers and -1% in adults 25-54 in primetime. In total day, MSNBC was down -4% in total viewers and was flat in the demo. That said, coverage of the Boston bombing (and subsequent manhunt) on CNN and the Jodi Arias trial on HLN led to the channel placing fourth in the demo in total day for the month.

MSNBC IN RATINGS COLLAPSE
Image
I have to admit, seeing shrill leftist Rachel Maddow’s ratings tank brings a big smile to my face.

Quote:
HLN’s wall-to-wall coverage of the Jodi Arias trial has had substantial ratings legs. Surging around the time of the May 8 verdict, the network notched an extremely rare monthly victory: it topped MSNBC in total day and primetime. And with CNN posting its second consecutive month as a distant primetime runner-up to Fox News Channel, MSNBC is in a very precarious fourth place.

Averaging 539,000 viewers in primetime and 175,000 viewers in the adults 25-54 demographic, MSNBC suffered double-digit drops from last May — down a respective 20 and 19 percent. Losses were less substantial in total day, down 10 percent to an average 346,000 viewers and down 7 percent to 115,000 adults 25-54, while all other nets pulled growth in multiple categories.

The soft start for All In With Chris Hayes has not helped. Hayes, down 32 percent in total viewers from The Ed Show last May, has offered a poor lead-in for MSNBC’s primetime flagship The Rachel Maddow Show at 9 p.m.. The show delivered its lowest-rated month since it debuted in Sept. 2008 (717,000 total viewers) and its second-lowest with adults 25-54 (210,000). Maddow was topped by typical time slot victor Sean Hannity and, in a rare feat, CNN’s Piers Morgan.

Megyn Rises, Maddow Sinks
Image
In the results that surprise no one. Megyn Kelly triumphs in first night ratings over Rachel Maddow by over a million viewers.

Quote:
Fox News Channel’s “The Kelly File” handily beat rivals in total viewers, an auspicious start for the network’s first new primetime program in more than a decade, as well as its host, Megyn Kelly.

According to early Nielsen totals, Fox News Channel’s “The Kelly File” lured nearly 2.1 million viewers between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m,. Monday evening, compared with 997,466 for MSNBC’s “Rachel Maddow Show” and 529,946 for CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight.” The figures could change slightly.

MSNBC’s “Maddow” secured more viewers among audiences between 25 and 54 years of age, the demographic most coveted by advertisers in news programming. “Maddow” attracted 298,543 in the demo,

according to Nielsen, compared with 289,264 for “Kelly” and 144,602 for “Piers Morgan.” Ad buyers have said they have come to expect the largest viewership for cable news from Fox News Channel.

Fox Nearly Doubles CNN and MSNBC's Combined Prime Time Viewers Last Week

Image
Quote:
The new prime time lineup at Fox News continues to demolish its competition.

Last week, FNC almost doubled the combined viewers of CNN and MSNBC from 8PM to 11PM.

During this time period, FNC averaged 2.1 million total viewers and 376k in the important demographic of folks aged 25 to 54.

MSNBC had 716k and 202k respectively while CNN brought in 433k and 146k.

For the week, only ESPN brought in more cable viewers than FNC in prime time.

TVNewser reports that this was Fox's second-best week of the year only bested by the week of the Boston Marathon bombing.

The was also FNC's second-best week of the year in expanded prime time which includes On the Record at 7PM. The network averaged 2,377,000 total viewers and 442,000 in the demo.

Jeff Zucker and Phil Griffin must be eating their hearts out.

Yes indeed, Fake News having 2.1 million morons watching is very impressive, LOL.
Bragging about it is even better. :smt005

Dear Stupid,

What do you suppose is harder, making a functional website, or running the healthcare of the entire nation?

Dumbo screwed the pooch on the easiest part, and you still think that bodes well for the future of the nation's healthcare?

If you want to see an idiot...just look in the mirror.

Are you really that effing stupid and ignorant? Nobody is "running the healthcare of the entire nation" you stupid moron. The insurance companies on the exchanges that are offering healthcare policies are private for profit companies. They don't have anything to do with the government you hate.
This is not "government run healthcare."
Now you know.

What twisted liberal logic could lead you to that conclusion when the IRS is involved?

What about the 27 times Dumbo lied to America when he said you could keep your insurance policy and Doctor, if you liked them PERIOD?

Dear moron:
The simple fact that insurance companies on the exchanges that are offering healthcare policies are private for profit companies. The IRS is not "running" healthcare.
You're either as stupid as Michele Bachmann or you're lying....or both.
I say both.
The president didn't lie about anything. It's really very simple, if your insurance company did not change your plan in any significant way, you got to keep what you have because it was 'grandfathered' in. If your PRIVATE FOR PROFIT insurance company changed your plan it no longer has 'grandfathered' status. It was a business decision by your insurance company if you're policy got cancelled, period.
Don't worry Arc, if your crappy, substandard, good for sh*t policy got cancelled you'll be able to keep it for another year.
