Hours before the polls close in Wisconsin’s recall election, Gov. Scott Walker (R) is seeking to rally supporters -- by reminding them of the anniversary of Ronald Reagan’s death.
“President Reagan died on June 5, 2004,” Walker tweeted early Tuesday evening. “Let’s win one for the Gipper!”
Invoking Reagan on the campaign trail is hardly anything new. But using the anniversary of the former president’s death to encourage voters to go to the polls would seem to be something of an unorthodox tactic in the eleventh hour of a competitive race.

What, YOU DONT WANT A REPUBLICAN TO TAKE A PAGE OUT OF YOUR N!GGERS MUSLIM PLAY BOOK ??

38% of Union Voters Cast Their Ballots for Scott Walker
Image
Jimmy Hoffa laughing so hard he cracked his cement.

Quote:
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says “there’s no doubt” that union members were among those who voted to keep him in office in Tuesday’s recall election.

The network exit poll for the special election showed that Walker won the votes of 38 percent of voters who said they were a union member or lived in a household with a union member.

“I’m talking to workers here this morning, talked to a lot of manufacturers across the state over the last year and a half, but particularly the last months in this campaign, and I find that at plant after plant, there are construction workers and others in manufacturing who appreciate the fact that we turned our state around. And I think they wanted more of that in the future,” Walker told Fox & Friends Wednesday morning. “They wanted us to go forward.”

The exit poll showing that Walker got 38 percent of the vote from people living in union households was conducted by Edison Research for ABC News, CBS News, NBC News, CNN, Fox News and the Associated Press.

Walker said he’s heard voters complain for years that when politicians get into office, they’re not willing to take on the tough challenges.

“What we did was inherently about taking on those tough challenges — about taking on the things that not only made it difficult at the state level, but at the local level, to balance our budget; and in doing so, we thought more about that next generation. . . than just the next election. And I think voters rewarded us for that.

“They said loudly, not just in Wisconsin, but I think across the country, if you do the right thing, if you make the right choices, voters will stand with you.”

Bawney Fwank Slams Dems, Unions For Making “Big Mistake” In Pushing Wisconsin Recall
Image
Bawney has deemed the failed recall officially not fabulous.

Quote:
Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) slammed unions and liberal activists for pushing to recall Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R).

“I think the people on the Democratic side made a big mistake and the funding thing was a big deal,” Frank told The Hill Wednesday afternoon, alluding to Republicans’ big cash advantage in the race. “My side picked a fight they shouldn’t have picked. The recall was upsetting to people, the rerun of the election with [Democratic Milwaukee Mayor] Tom Barrett — it’s not a fight I would have picked.”

Walker survived the recall by a comfortable 7-point margin over Barrett on Tuesday, leading Republicans to crow that the state is in play in the fall and claiming the vote was an affirmation of Walker’s tough policies towards public-sector unions. When asked if the race had any national implications, Frank shook his head.

“People need to be more strategic about the fights they pick,” he said.

by: strike3,

It all comes down to democrat vote buying enabled by greed. Where else can a person work a six hour day, retire at age 50 and receive full or nearly full pay and benefits afterwards? Where else can a school teacher who is less intelligent than most of her students enjoy a guaranteed-for-life job? Where else can the most incompetent person in the work force be the union steward? The taxpayers can't be blind to this abuse forever.

chumley,

Where I work the union spends the vast majority of its time and effort defending the lazy and inept. The few legitimate beefs they deal with are lost in the clutter.
No thanks.

'Hitler' gets the news of Walker win

This is hysterically funny. It's a scene from the excellent German language film "Downfall" and the creators of this video substitute their own subtitles.

Rich Baehr, who brings the video to our attention, says:

One sequence in the film, where Hitler loses his "cool" after receiving some bad news on the Russian front, has been adapted by many people to produce a different time and place subtitled message.
Here, he gets the news about the Wisconsin recall:

Wisconsin Recall Anarchists
Suffer Hilarious Withdrawal
Pains When Media Split

Newsbusters, by P. J. Gladnick

It is well known that leftwing political demonstrators love to play to the cameras as happened in Wisconsin during the months leading up the the recent failed attempt to recall Governor Scott Walker. So what happens when the media departs once the election is over? As you can see in this video (and below the fold) their media withdrawal pains might not be pretty sight but it is definitely quite hilarious.

The two featured anarchists go berserk when they spot the CNN bus begin to leave town on the day after the recall election. Anarchist Miles Kristan even attempts to keep the CNN bus from leaving by standing in front of it in the street. However, the truly great comedic reaction comes from the other anarchist, Kristine "Thistle" Pettersen, whom one wag nicknamed "Pippi Bongstocking." As a bonus, an extended video of Thistle has now been released which, as you can see, is chock full of comedy gold media withdrawal pains.

Above you have a brief glimpse of Thistle but the longer video below presents her in all her hilarious glory. A rant best described as an extended stream of conciousness primal scream.

A Wisconsin judge on Friday struck down the state law championed by Gov. Scott Walker that effectively ended collective bargaining rights for most public workers.

US Appeals Court Upholds Wisconsin Law Restricting Public Sector Unions, Gov Walker: “Victory For Taxpayers”
Image
Ever notice how those guys that wear those polyester union jackets everywhere, are most always first-class assholes with big mouths and even bigger guts?
Quote:
(Reuters) – A federal appeals court on Friday upheld a controversial Wisconsin law that restricts the power of public-sector unions, the passage of which sparked an unsuccessful effort to recall the state’s Republican Governor, Scott Walker.

By a 2-1 vote, the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago found that the 2011 law is constitutional, rejecting claims that it violated the equal protection and First Amendment rights of union members.

It reversed part of a March 2012 ruling by U.S. District Judge William Conley in Madison, Wisconsin.

Seven of Wisconsin’s largest public-sector unions, including the Wisconsin Education Association Council, had sued to overturn the law, known as Act 10.

“Wisconsin educators are extremely disappointed with the appeals court ruling,” the group’s president Mary Bell said in a statement. She called the law “a ploy to eliminate workers’ rights to have a voice through their union – political payback for citizens who didn’t endorse the governor.”
