WASHINGTON, DC - Visiting U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon said Saturday that building anywhere in the District is illegal and must be stopped, even as a Muslim teenager was killed in clashes with DC police elsewhere in the West Side of the District.

The death of 16-year-old Mohammed Qadus, who was shot in the chest by police, comes amid heightened tensions between blacks and Muslims after announced plans last week for 1,600 new homes for low income families in the disputed East side.

The announcement has sparked outrage and protests from Muslims, as well as sharp condemnation from the United State's closest ally -- Canada -- and the U.N. secretary general.

Obviously I changed the names around to make a point. First, this protest is stupid! Homes benefit BOTH Jews and Palestinians. So the protests are pretty much without merit. The housing is needed and the area is blighted. Second, the true traditional homeland of Palestinians is a portion of Jordan, not Israel. But more than that, who's business is it where the Israelis build in their own country? That was my point.

As a side note, some Bible scholars believe the Scriptures indicate how the Palestinian problem will be resolved in the end. Some smooth talker will come along and convince the Palestinian leadership to relocate north to the area of Hamon-Gog. Time will tell.

Meanwhile, why are we wasting money propping up a failed Palestinian government also known to turn a blind eye to internal terrorist organizations? Our money mostly just goes to keep the leadership living far better than some of our taxpayers who are helping foot the bill. Palestinians and Jews do live in harmony withing the "approved Jewish areas" so who really is this Palestinian government anyway? And why won't they allow Jews to live within their territory if they wish to?

I hear there's an old saga going on over there. When Jews live in an area they build nice homes, schools, hospitals, restaurants and so on. Then the Palestinians take over the area and tear down everything and then phone Uncle Sam demanding money but little ever gets rebuilt. Why even deal with such a bunch of red neck hillbilly bullies?

Netanyahu Pushes Back, Says Jerusalem 'Not a Settlement'

WASHINGTON -- Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented dueling positions on Jerusalem construction Monday, underlining a recent spat between the allies while simultaneously suggesting the incident is behind them.

Israel recently announced new housing plans for east Jerusalem, the part of the city Palestinians want for a future capital, drawing unusually sharp criticism from the Obama administration. Clinton renewed that disapproval on Monday, telling a pro-Israel audience that provocative Israeli land policies in areas claimed by the Palestinians are not in Israel's long-term interests and undermine U.S. credibility as a mediator.

Again, the Palestinians have no more rights to Jerusalem than anyone who can lay claim to Washington, DC. I don't see how any rational person can for one minute buy into Palestinians having a right to a place that archaeology shows was owned by the Jewish people. Shouldn't the existence of the Western Wall be proof enough of that anyway? If not there are numerous other finds including the tombs of Jewish patriarchs in the vicinity. But where are the 2,000+ year old Palestinian artifacts? You won't find them in Israel and certainly not in Jerusalem. OTOH no one disputes the existence of Native American settlements in pretty much every one of the lower 48 states.
