Dan Klein, as Mayor of Crown Point, was responsible for pushing $380,000 out the Crown Point door to Plasmatronics, Inc.

As soon as Plasmatronics had the money, they announced that they were leaving Crown Point.

The newspapers reported that much of $255,000 of the loan Kein arranged had not been spent as represented but instead had vanished.

It boils down to a battle between Competence and Corruption.

Fran Katz is extremely Competent.

Why would the city settle for less than what Plasmatronics owed and attorney fees that had to be paid to ice miller which is Bob Kuzman's firm?

Word is that the City of Crown Point has been notified of the investigation into Plasmatronics as have several individuals in Crown Point. Dan Klein is viewed as the major player in making the loan.

Too bad the city can't sue Mr. Klein to recoup the rest of the money.

Since the conduct was either willful or exceedingly negligent and not in the normal course of the mayor's business, he probably could be sued.

The investigators also may be able to urge him to pay it back if he has any money after his legal fees.

Klein pushed thru the Plasmatronics loan without ever seeing financial statements and without any solid ervidence that the Plasmatronics device worked.

That was either willful wrongdoing or extreme negligence. He should be sued and it should be a lesson to other NWI politicians.

The current investigation should hold Klein accountable and liable.

But what happened to the $380,000 Klein forced Crown Point to loan Plasmatronics?

It seems to have vanished into thin air.

That would be fantastic. He needs to be knocked down a few more notches.

The investigation probably centers on what happened to the missing $380,000 and why Dan Klein insisted on making the loan.

Yeah. I wonder what he got for making the loan. And what are his connections to Plasmatronics? Family member? Friend? Who knows?

From the newspaper reports, it looks like a construction company called K-2 Construction got most of the money - supposedly to build out the Plasmatronics building - didn't do a lot of work and served as the bag man for distributing the loot.

This is the first investigation into Crown Point government practices I can remember.

Dan Klein certainly appears to be the Kingpin.

The investigation into Plasmatronics is becoming more public as the authorities contact more people in Crown Point.

Klein is nuts running a casmpaign while being investigated for the alleged Plasmatronics fraud.
