RENOWNED SCIENCE LEADER, BUSINESSWOMAN FRAN KATZ FILES FOR DISTRICT 19 GOP CANDIDACY

(February 16, 2010 – Crown Point) Fran Katz, who grew up on a Hoosier Farm and rose to Vice President of Research at American Maize (now Cargill) in Whiting filed her candidacy on Tuesday for the GOP nomination for District 19 State Representative.

Katz is dedicated to fighting corrupt pay-to-play politics and using her considerable business skills and contacts to bring economic development to Northwest Indiana.

Kim Krull, Chairman of the Lake County GOP, said Katz represents the quality of candidate Republicans will field to fight corrupt politics in Lake County so that economic development is revived.

A native Hoosier, Katz grew up on an Indiana farm, worked her way through the University of Indianapolis and received an MBA from the University of Chicago. She is one of the nation’s most respected women in the Food/Agricultural industries and her name is on 13 United States patents.

She served as a leader of the successful Independent campaign to eliminate political corruption from Chicago’s 43rd Ward (population 55,000), and helped defeat long entrenched Democratic Councilmen Paddy Bauler/Danny O’Brien.

Her experience in legislative matters includes twice testifying before Congressional Committees.

Thats the only part of this article that worries me.

That sounds like an excellent quality. A lifelong business woman who knows other business leaders can make things happen and bring sound industry and economic development.

Politicians who have done nothing but feed at the public trough are susceptible to scams like Plasmatronics and immediately ask: "What's in it for me."

From what I understand, Fran Katz doesn't need kickbacks, and can bring investment from major industry - and it's inconceivable that she would have her hand out.

I know Fran Katz and she is remarkably competent and honest.

There is no comparison between Katz and Klein.

Katz is competent and honest.

Klein demonstrated his incompetence as mayor and his word is worthless.

Fran is crazier than her old man, Alan. Klein is a scum bag but at least he is not crazy.

I believe Allan Katz was CEO of one of the nations largest leather manufacturing companies for most of his working life.

He is a graduate of Yale College and Yale Law School.

Since he was in ROTC as an undergraduate and deferred for three years to attend law school, he served as a commanding officer in the U.S. army paratroops after law school and was one of the first U.S. officers to command a Special Forces unit. This is documented in his biography at the Republican National Lawyers Association website.

There is a comparison: the lesser of two evils.

Recently, I believe Allan Katz was the person who identified the Plasmatronics loan as a scam.

The FBI is currently investigating and closing in on Klein as a result.

Do we want our legislator in the pokey?

Fran Katz has a reputation for integrity and people skills.

Klein's relationship with the firefighters was the worst in Crown Point history.

Fran Katz has built a superb reputation based on solid accomplishments.

Klein tried to build arches over Main Street and tear down the Crown Point Square.

Oh come on, the truth is everyone in Crown Point knows Katz is batty. "Eh, don't worry about Katz. Everyone in town knows he's a wacko", whish I had dime for every time I heard that. "No one can work with the guy", so they'll just have to dissolve and re-form the redevelopment commission to get rid of him.

Critics say that Allan Katz may have been under psychiatric care for many years. He suffers from delusions of importance, inability to tell the difference between reality and his own imagination, and has a "savior" complex. He makes an unsolicited phone call to the FBI and calls it "cooperating with federal authorities" and reports this misinformation to his puppets at the local gossip rag. And they are dumb enough to print it. Now that’s journalism. Look out National Inquirer.



What qualifications does a microbiologist have to run for state office? Will she be ridding the pool of public discussion of corrosive algae spewing from Allan Katz? Do you want someone in office that has Allan as her top advisor?

This certainly looks like the kind of character assassination we have come to expect in Klein campaigns.

Klein has tried anonymous character assasination in all three of his campaigns. Two against Gayle Van Sessen and one against Wayne Isailovich. That's why he and his buddies should be out of politics.

The truth is Klein is no prize. He is clearly damaged goods and I wish there was a better alternative. However, given dubious dealing and crazy as a choice, insanity is not one of the traits I can live with in government, there is enough of if already.
