Crown Point Mayor Uran received $1,500.00 in campaign contributions from Ice Miller lawyers - the attorneys for Crown Point in the Plasmatronics law suit - according to Uran's latest campaign finance report.

That is about 2% of what Ice Miller was paid by Crown Point during the reporting period - pretty much the standard kickback in East Chicago and other parts of North Lake County.

So you think that nwi is the only place where vendors make political contributions? What happens on the Federal level makes $1,500 seem like chump change.

Opposition to political payoffs in Nebraska, Louisiana and the Unions put Scott Brown in the Senate. In a few months, the Blagojevich trial will turn Illinois into the Greatest Show on Earth.

Your comment sounds like the Katie Hall Defense when Joe Van Bokkelen indicted her for 2% kickbacks: "But everybody does it."

I think the public is mad as hell and doesn't want to take it anymore.

I saw on the front page of yesterday's Times that Uran is having a fundraiser this Saturday at $100 per ticket up to $5,000 per table. Who on earth is going to pay for these tables unless they expect to get it back through business with the city of Crown Point.

This is pay-to-play politics, pure and simple.

East Chicago Mayor Pabey was just indicted.

Political corruption has its price.

The investigation of Visclosky and the indictment of Pabey indicates that the attack on political corruption in NWI is back in action. If David Capp can do what Van Bokkelen did, he too should be a Federal Judge. And attempts to interfere with such investigations or material witnesses is the felony "obstruction of justice".

Here's the run down from today's paper. http://www.nwitimes.com/news/local/lake ... 1c79a.html

It won't belong until they catch Uran in a venture similar to Sidewalks for Votes. Perhaps Uran's scandal will be entitled Sportplex for Super Bowl Party. When you run with the big dogs Dave, you caged with 'em too! :smt006 :smt006
