This is how it begins. I will give them credit at least they are being proactive and not turning a blind eye. Merrillville swore that the only people who rented in their town were bus drivers...now look!

For years, Crown Point had some of the strictest building inspectors in Lake County. Apparently that has changed if landlords are getting away with cutting up single family homes into multiple apartments. However, I believe that the residents of Crown Point will very supportive of an ordinance like this because they don't want to see their property values drop.

This mansion is only going for $200,000 in Crown Point Indiana property values of the community have already hit rock bottom there are some who still believe there property is worth what they paid for it.

The banks are dumping them left and right and they know there are a lot of people here in north county who can afford that home and rent and they are starting to target us!

Look at how high the weeds are growing in the yard I thought the Upington Smyth of those hoods cut the weeds on unkept property you can just barley see the fire hydrant looks like Gary to me :smt005

Except that it probably still has its copper piping.

In Hammond, Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr has used this and other ordinances to go after his political opponets. In fact Sparkie even revealed McDermott has used city resources to identify E board posters and intimidate them. Right Sparkie.

I think among the hardest hit is thomas mcdermott sr. per the lake county treasurer he just under $92,000 in arrears on his property taxes!
