The teacher's union wants you to think of it in terms of "education".

But it is really about the union getting their snout 2% deeper into the taxpayer's wallet.

Merrillville has changed from 71% Caucasian to 34% Caucasian between the 2000 census and the 2010 census. Merrillville has also borrowed heavily and is in financial trouble.

Uran's large apartment complexes, Bo Jackson stadium and the Sportsplex, using borrowed money are turning Crown Point into another Merrillville.

Gary is losing population, while Crown Point is learning about "white flight" in the North End and throughout the city and gaining a good part of Gary's lost population.

Uran is destroying Crown Point!!

Look I understand what you are trying to communicate.

You have been posting the same things over and over for months.

But what I don't understand is what it has to do with this thread "Backtalk to Quickly".

Why are you trying to drag this thread off topic?

Have I dragged one of your threads off topic?

I am voting against Uran, mainly for the reasons you state, but also becase he is not even from CP but from Lowell.

And also he is all about wealth distribution, like raising people's water bills so others can have discounted water bills.

But that is not what this thread is about.

It reminded me how rapidly Crown Point is becoming another Merrillville with the community being Garyized and the Crown Point debt increasing by 51% in three years. Some folks are in denial. Others see it, but refuse to discuss it like they refused in Gary and Merrillville.

Crown Point being Bo Jacksonized and it's burgeoning debt is not "trying to do" anything. They are facts.

No one owns a thread.

When you start a thread, anyone is free to comment even if they disagree with you.

This is an interesting thread, but it's posts can be as varied as Quickly's topics.

You have frequently commented on threads that I have started and I welcome the diversity of opinion. Chat boards were created to enable diverse opinions being expressed.

If you think my opinion is BS, say why you disagree. I think it is extremely relevant to the current situation in Northwest Indiana and to several dubious Quickly comments. In my opinion, a major part of the solution is for NWI mayors like Uran to stop borrowing and spending huge amounts - that the city cannot afford - to buy votes.
