There is no rush to flee Merrillville and the property is holding it's value even with the towns woes.

Merrillville passed it's "tipping point" back around 1998.

There is only 157 properties listed for the town that is very low.

In the late 90's it was probably 10 times that amount as the change in demographics was at it's peak.

I would venture to say I think some of the people who left bit off more than they could chew may have returned to the community but North of 61 avenue. The towns calling card is low tax and people can retire and keep their homes not like in Crown Point and Gary.
