FYI- This is also in legislation in several other states. This is a red flag WARNING, LEAVE THE ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES ALONE! Spread the word around or don't. Some people who are abusing the system deserve to lose their benefits. They are abusing my income taxes and that
s me! I am disabled and not working but I pay federal taxes on my disability checks. As a Social Worker I have seen so many abuses of the welfare system I know there needs to be a complete overhaul. I don't go as far as Republicans who want TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) and most social programs dismantled but I would like to see states put stringent rules in place. Investigations on the same level as those done by insurance companies to catch people abusing the system must start and possibly the threat of arrest and convictions will deter abuse. People abusing the system are able bodied (fully capable of working) or have someone in the home working but feel it is alright to receive a welfare check and food stamps. It is wrong, lazy, trifling, and irresponsible.
