Not just any apple crisp. This one was in the Times in April or May 2008. It calls for apple butter mixed with the apples for flavoring. When my mom died, we found several jars of apple butter in her basement, and I always think of her when I make it. She would have loved it - don't know what I did with the recipe, and can't find it in the Times archives. Thanks! |

I feel like that commercial about Bing - going off on tangents. I can find recipes for apple butter or apple crisp. Can't find recipes using apple butter to make apple crisp. I think I might try it from memory and see how it goes. I was going to triple it anyway, so why not just experiment all the way? |
