I'm making an early pick for winner, reserving the right to change it. Rapper Lil Kim looked like she has great potential. She said she became addicted to Dancing with the Stars while she was in prison, and she dedicated her performance last night to her girls in the same prison. Former Go-Gos singer Belinda Carlisle looked georgous and elegant but not very entertaining. Apple computer founder Steve Wozniak is old and fat, but I'll bet being extra rich takes some of the sting out of it for him. He looked like he was having big fun. |

I saw one of the best live television performances of all time tonight. The singer Jewel did a beautiful rendition of Somewhere over the Rainbow. one of my fave songs, and I never knew she could sing so well. A couple danced a lovely waltz to it. They got a standing ovation of over 5 minutes. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy was also on, and it looks to me like that 40's-era swing music I've liked for so long is hot stuff. Great dancing with it too. Belinda Carlisle, formerly of the Go Gos, is gone, gone. She just wasn't good enough. |

I had only heard her mousy little pop voice before. She really belted out the tune on Dancing the other night. It made me cry. |

Drat! My fave pro dancer, the very hunky Maksim, got eliminated tonight. His partner, actress Denise Richards, wasn't so hot. But to send them home instead of the awful Steve Wozniak is unbelievable. Must be a whole lot of Macintosh fans out there. |

New season is underway. Some interesting contestants. For the obligatory old person, they have astronaut Buzz Aldren He looks and dances like he is every minute of his age. He is 80. I give him credit for trying but I expected him to get sent home last night. Instead, Shannon Doherty, who hasn't been too bad, got the hook. I thought Kate Goslin, the mom of 8 kids from reality TV, deserved the boot more than Shannon. The press says she's been acting like a prima donna. Pamela Anderson is better thanb I expectesd. However, there are some pretty goods contestans so she won't be there for long. Gotta say how very lame the Beach Boys were last night. No mas!
