Gasoline prices not high enough for you?

Well Sen. Lonnie Randolph has the cure for you. He has authored a bill allowing the county to add a 1% tax to the price of a gallon of gas. As of today, that would be an increase of 3 cents. Of course, that would go up as the price oif gas goes up.
Fireworks would be subjected to the same 1%.
So where would this money go? To the communities where it was collected, who put up with all the traffic and hubub those gas stations bring?
That would be a huge windfall for Hammond, where a lot of Illinois residents buy gas.
But no, Randolph's bill would have the money distributed to all LC communities based on population.
Wonder why I haven't seen anything in the paper about this bill?

Well I still don't know what you are talking about, but I'm surprised people don't seem to care about this new tax.
I for one don't need higher gas prices!
