From the Times:

"Montalvo apologized Wednesday for the May incident, and said he was appealing the convictions, which he believed would be overturned.

"He also said he was disappointed that firefighters would seek his removal from the commission over misdemeanors, because "many in the Fire Department also have misdemeanor convictions."

From the beginning, I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. I can see that encounter with the train cop could easily spin out of control. Especially when I saw that video of it.
On the list of crimes by city officials, mixing it up verbally with a train cop in downtown Chicago seems pretty small potatoes to me.

How is it small? He was asked to leave and tried to pull his "big shot" card and failed miserably at it.

All he had to do was WALK AWAY and nothing would have happened, but no, mr ego had to open his yap and remove all doubt that he is a moron and got what he deserved
