Property Taxes Went Up !!!

The new property tax bills are supposed to be mailed out the end of September. I suggest you down a bottle of strong drink of your choice, before you open the bad news envelope. These are the taxes due for 2008, payable 2009.

I had a successfull appeal this spring, which lowered my assessed value down by $24,000 and cut 1/3 off my tax bill. Well, they literally jacked up my assessed value over that amount by $29,000 and my tax liability went up about 50%. I just had a successfull appeal in March for the 2007 taxes, and now will have to appeal this new assessment.

Honestly, what they have me assessed at, is 3-5 times more than what the houses have sold for over here in the past 1 1/2 years. IF they really think it is worth that much on the market, find me a buyer at that price !!! :evil:

Going tomorrow to drop off my property tax appeal... I suggest everyone else who's getting fu'ckd do the same, no appraisal required.

Actually property taxes went up, the assesed value went up.
