Thank you, it was nice seeing my out-of-iown family members again. But I ate too much and got a tummy ache. Hope you had a nice time too. :D

I feel so bad for the people who are going to be out of work during the holiday season because of the fire. What rotten timing! I'm also glad we have a good, brave fire separtment. I wouldn't do that job for ANY amount of money.

It's being reported that the mayor has been spotted on scene wearing a Cubs hat.

Well ok, maybe I should re-phrase the title of this thread? :P

As a side note, Jim Dedlow keeps talking about how his camera & stuff got stolen within the week and needing someone to take pictures of the scene for the website. Dude, Wal*Mart is open! Go buy one!! lol

Oops, gotta go! The mayor is coming on.

Interesting that Jim's stuff was stolen in Munster, not in the "crime-ridden" city of Hammond.

Even if the displaced employees get unemployment benefits, they will lose a whole week's pay because the state imposes a waiting week beforee it starts paying. THat's a big hit for a working class family. I hope the agencies and charities we have in place will do something to help these people out for Christmas. Especially for the kids.

free...did you call on air this morning? i thought the lady may have been you but its harder to tell in studio. it was a nice call if it was you....im just wondering if it was.

someone called up with the idea of maybe putting on an event to help the employees through the christmas holiday...maybe toy donations things like that. great idea...although i'd think it would have to be organized by an existing local charity...but if anyone with those types of connections wants to organize such a thing please pm me as i;d like to help out in any way i can.

Yes it was me. Fooled ya by being nice, did't I ? I think you guys did a great job this morning. I really do feel heartsick for the workers losing their jobs so close to Christmas. I hope the citizens of Hammond will help out these people and their families through this hard time.

Kudos to Wal Mart and others who brought water and snacks to the fire scene. The firefighters were very thankful!

They didn't need no stinking snaks, they're all big and fat anyways! Besides, they were working, leave them alone. If Wal-mart is going to start giving free food away, then I ain't shopping there no mo.
