Here are the highlights of the meeting:

Ms. Mamala was absent this evening.

Special Recognition:

The Morton High School Football Team, and their Coach, Mr. Ray Richards were honored this evening.

Special Presentation:

Mr. Raggs talked and presented on the plaques on a special section in the meeting room, to honor the Great Lakes Athletic Conference Champions.

Mr. Monberg from Fanney and Howey presented an award from an architectural group, American School and University, for the design of the Library and Media Center at Harding.

There was a presentation on the new Multimedia Editing and Production Academy at the Career Center. There are openings for participation in this specialized academy for 40 students, 20 in the morning session, and 20 in the afternoon session. Students who wish to participate in this new academy must fill out an application. Hammond students will get preference, but it is open to other schools students that currently participate in the Carreer Center studies.

No speakers at either Public Expression Session.

Consent Agenda:

Ms Murphy questioned 2 items on the consent agenda. One of which seems to be a repitition of a job that a current SCH employee is already doing as his duties. She also questioned an expenditure for a company to work on the Board Rules, when the information they need is already available for free from a state organization.

New Business:

A resolution was passed to correct a typo in the minutes sent to the state, that affected the budget disbursements.

A tax anticipation warrant resolution was passed for the expected 2010 property tax revenues.

My take on the meeting:

Congratulations to the Morton football Team, and their Coach, Mr. Richards !!!

Ms. Murphy, you seem to ,be the only one on the board who questions things that do not seem to be in the best interest of the taxpayers. THANK YOU !!! :D
