Northwest Indiana Discussion

I did not attend this meeting as I have been sick since monday night. A friend went to the meeting, and took notes for me.

Here are the highlights of the meeting:

Ms. Dent was absent.

There were many SCH Personnel in attendance this evening.

The School Board affirmed the Tax Anticipation Warrants in the amount of approximately $20 million dollars, as the property tax monies are not going to be distributed until approximately January 2010.

A General Obligation Bond for projects at Morton High School, in excess of $1 million dollars, was affirmed by the School Board.

The application for Stimulus funds for varying SCH projects was denied by the State.

There were no speakers at either Public Expression Session.

The next School Board Meeting will be Thursday, November 12, 2009, 7pm, at 41 Williams Street.

My Comments:

I was told the meeting only lasted 20 minutes, a very quick meeting. Remember, there is a petition circulating for the new high school. Be informed, and be prepared to fight !
