Here are the highlights of the meeting: All board members were present. Recognition/Presentation: The million word reading winners from Franklin Elementary were honored this evening for their accomplishments. The Science Olympiad teams were honored this evening. The Hammond High graduates were highlighted this evening. Unfinished Business: The first reading of the Board Policy 5840: Criminal Organizations and Criminal Activity was done this evening. Calendar: The next regular school board meeting is scheduled for Monday June 18th 5:30pm at 41 Williams Street. There is a tentative Public Work Session that has not been scheduled as yet. Public Expression 2nd Session(no speakers 1st session): Ms. Carlotta King told the board she has a list of accomplishments of the Hammond High students that she will be forwarding to the board.She also said that the new board policy needs parental involvement. She said there is a need for community involvement in the hiring process for the SCH. My Take: Congratulations to all the students honored this evening ! |
