Months ago, a union bigwig was stopped on a possible OWI charge by Hammond police. The driver stopped, dropped the name of Hammond mayor Tom McDermott. We're instructed that mentioning that you're good friends with Tom McDermott, didn't help the alledged and all is on the up and up, but an unasked question is the chain of command and communications admitted to by Hammond police. Who, by dropping the name of McDermott, has cops consulting the chief of police for a run of the mill OWI? Why was he informed? Why did he then interrupt McDermott's Boys to Men concert to inform him? Was the issue moved up the pecker order because that's what they thought was expected of them? Looking for guidance on what to do? Is there a who's who list of who warrants a call to Tom? |
