I post this on the Hammond board because it appears it is the only active one.
Now Gary airport has lost another airline. When are they going to wake up and get a board that can run the joint. Those on the board may be good business leaders, but many didn't start their own business. There's a big diffrence. What the board needs are people that have ideas and can promote the place if they ever want the place to survive. Every month or so, there is a request for money for this or that. Now they will have a super long runway. For what, a Piper Cub?
First move to start is changing the airports name. Let's face the facts, Gary is known for a rundown part of crooked Lake County in the first place. Example, why did the Gary Casino boards use the place as Buffington Harbor? Change the name that's appealing and yes Gary officials must finally say they have failed in improving the city.With all the money that has been given to the city, plus the airport, they could have a showplace. In closing, they just hired a new leader for the airport. Just check his background or check where he ran oher airports. You don't give up a job at Indianapolios airport for Gary. Unless there are other curcumstances. It's about time the little people of Lake County to step in to get the City of Gary, the Airport and Lake County in general to be fully accountable for their actions.
