Northwest Indiana Discussion

Here are the highlights of the meeting:

All board members were present.

Special Recognition/Presentation:

Several Clark students competed in a regional and a state music contest. At the regional level, Clark students received 2 gold medals and some silver. At the Indiana State Music Competition, one of the Clark students received a gold medal.
Area Career Center students received a 1st, 2nd, and a 3rd place in the Indiana association Of School Broadcasters competition.
There was a presentation this evening on the Hammond students participation in the African-American Student Achievement Council which was held at Purdue last month.

No speakers at either Public Expression sessions this evening.

Reports:

Ms. Mamala and Mr. Janiec were honored by the Indiana State School Board Association.

Consent Agenda/Personnel Reports:

Item 5 no. 4 on the Consent Agenda was pulled before the vote this evening. This item was for payment to a coordinator who schedules home and away sporting events.
Brandon Wash, the Hammond High School Assistant Track Coach was fired as of 2-28-2013.

Calender:

The next regular School Board meeting will be Monday March 25, 2013 6pm at Scott Middle School.
