Remember the good old days in Gary, Hammond and East Chicago? When you as a citizen would have to pay off a crooked politician to get anything really done. You know, the envelope at the bar, the ten spot to have the garbage man take that extra stove, the couple grand to get a job at police or fire etc. Not to mention when i would ask the cops how crowded the after hours gambling joints were.
Same concept today only a little different form. If you get something from the administration you are expected to purchase tickets to the next McFundraiser. So on second thought I want nothing that the city can offer besides the basics. I don't need the guys with gold badges asking any questions.
