Regarding McDermottt's campaign contributions, the Lake County Indiana League of Women Voters have a link to Tom's campaign contributions.

Strong correlation between contributors and economic favors, for example, McDermott thru the Redevelopment Commission paid over $1,000,000 for the purchase of the old walgreens building on Sibley St. McDermott cant give the property way for $10,000. The $1,000,000 was paid to a trust.

Phill Tallon (sic) opened an account on behalf of the Redevelopment Commission, deposited approximately $600,000 and two checks were written on this account, with out Redevelopment Commission's Authority. Did the checks pay two of Tom's new best friends nearly $550,000? :smt002

If the Redevelopment Commission didn't authorize payment, then the checks were issued illegally. :smt002 Over a half million dollars paid out with out authorization! :smt004 Shouldn't Both the individual who issued the check and Tallon be canned?

This property was inhabited by two families, who rented the property. This rental was standing, tennant occupied, rented less than 18 months ago. It is just a wonderful thing Tom McDermott, Mayor of Hammond and Lake County's Democratic Chairman allowed this building to stand for 11 years of his administration. It didn't get into this stage of disrepair in a week, a month, a year, over 5 years. It stood, in the conditions depicted in this picture for all of McDermott's administration!

Sure Councilman Mike, Tom's your hero, he didn't ask you to replay the $32,000 you misused to get yourself re elected. 79 dumpsters you rented one week before the 2011 election. They had your yellow and black banner on them, Mike. Come on now Mike you make over $117,000 a year, why not cut a check back to the general fund and square up like Philpot did, maybe the fed's might just knock on your door. :smt002

The above two pictures are the same building, an obvious Tom McDermott supporter. Apparently the bigger the deficits in the building, the bigger campaign sign you need to put in your back yard.

And this lovely property is now occupied by tenants with children. The picture taken with in the last month. Mayor..... let's make sure your College Bound Consultant makes another $90,000 a year plus $30,000 in expenses, plus his corp gets a $50,000 contract.

This property is not on your list Councilman. How could it not be? A friend and family plan member?

Sorta looks like Gary doesn't it? Where has Tom been for the last 11 years?

That is how Hammond Works or more in fact doesn't work.

Well Councilman, as long as you produce a list of properties, I guess it makes it alright, but it seems like little gets done. That list, wouldn't be a list of non McDermott supporters?

How did these properties get like this over the 11 years of Mayor Thomas McDermott's administration?

Was Tom and his people really doing their job? Is this why Hammond looks this way? Oh, lets not forget another $1.3million baseball field or the Harrison Park Tennis Courts, initially pegged at $550,000, now because of our Mayor's ineptitude, wound up costing Hammond Tax Payers $970,000!

Or is it more important to assure College Bound Consultant make $90,000 a year consulting fee with $30,000 a year in expenses?

Now we have Festival of the Snakes, as Tom said this morning you can put 10 people in a car for the $15 a car parking fee.
Last year over 110,000 people attended Snake Fest. Tom's people collected $15 a car on the 4,400 cars driving in making $66,000.

Wait a second, 4,400 cars at 10 people per car, that's only 44,000 attendee's. Must be some new math Mr. Finance came up with to make 76,000 attendee's parking fees disappear.

Indiana's State Board of Accounts requested Mr. McDermott save their receipts for audit. When auditors requested ticket receipts, someone in Hammond's Controller's Office threw them away.

Sweet.

No wonder Tom's a fan of Snake Fest, $250,000 of parking fees are split up between Tom and his friends. If there was an admission fee at the door, this problem would most likely shrink, but not disappear.

Tom says he wants admission to be free. I wonder why? :smt002

Who knows if they are on the list you wont give the location. If you were a decent human being who cared for his community instead of revenge for your failed attempt to latch onto a lousy candidate you would include the address and then see if they made the list. Again I am not the councilman but you are free to believe what ever you wish Chuck.

The sad part about this councilman, if mcdermott had made sure he had competent skilled people, instead of political hacks, going after political opponents and allowing his contributors, friends and family members get a pass, over the last 11 years, Hammond wouldn't look like this.

Go out and do your job. Some of these are in your district pal.

Here we go again. What opponents and what contributors? How would anyone know where they are at you're taking pictures of garages in alleys and won't give an address loser. Why are you the only one who suggests someone went after opponents. Did sanchez get a ticket?

Yes concilman, these are pictures of a contributor.....and you can readily see the condition of the property. It didn't get like this overnight, but over years.

Mike you need to put your glasses on and take your head out of Tom's @ss, but then you wouldn't be making that $117,000 a year now would you or is it $127,000. You are part of the problem..... a bit to cheap to have spent your own $32,000 renting 79 dumpsters one week before the 2011 election. You chose to use Casino Money screwing every body in Hammond Mike! Maybe I just might help you with a video for your next election. :lol:

One thing for sure councilman, your back cottage you rent, does it really have a rental sticker? How come friends in city hall say they cant find one? Mike? Are you again screwing Hammond residents, as your above the law? Mike?

Mike, all you have to do is drive down the street and look for them, but Tom's people cant find them.... only two reasons, no three, one their blind, two policy not to ticket friends of toms (especially if the put up a campaign sign), three their incompetent, sorta like how many believe how you run the city council meetings Mike.

This thread is sad, that you can find properties like this in Hammond after 11 years of Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr's administration, really sad.

See Mike, if I feed you and code the address, well that is all they are going to find. By not giving address Mike, it makes Tom's people look for them. :smt002

Tom's College Bound program has saved Hammond. There are over 1,300 foreclosed/pre-foreclosed properties in Hammond. Business leaving as fast as they can pack their bags.

Calumet Avenue, just north of 165th sports vacant store fronts. Indianapolis Blvd isn't too much better.

Is Tom working up a plan to blame someone else for this mess? Is it going to be the same theory he presented to law enforcement, as stated on a recent wjob show? He didn't know? Wasn't tom quoted he was driving around Gary in the recent past.....? Tom how about driving around Hammond and taking a good look at some of its problems.
